Sadly, it is human nature to measure success by comparison with our neighbors. A consequence of this tendency is the instinct to wish for others to fail and our own status to therefore appear higher by comparison.
Strive to cheer whenever others succeed and to avoid viewing your own achievements in comparison to others.
